Hickory NC SEO Company
Be the One They Find.
Somebody in your service area is looking for what you do right now. They will either land on your business or on a competitor's — and increasingly that decision is made by an AI assistant answering on your behalf. We make sure the answer has your name in it.
One Question.
Three Places to Win It.
A customer types or speaks one question. Behind that single question sit three separate competitions, each with its own rules. Winning one and ignoring the other two leaves most of the traffic on the table.
The List of Results
The oldest competition and still the largest. Search engines rank pages, and the ones near the top collect nearly all the clicks. Winning here is a matter of technical health, page structure, genuine relevance and local signals that prove you actually serve the area.
The Answer Above the List
Search engines increasingly answer the question outright — an AI Overview, a featured snippet, a voice assistant reading a line aloud. That answer gets pulled from a source. If it is never pulled from you, you can hold a good ranking and still watch the click disappear.
The AI Recommendation
People now ask an assistant to shortlist businesses for them, and it answers with names. Those names come from what the model can verify about you across the web — consistent details, clear service definitions, credible third-party signals. This is the newest front and the least contested.
Four Pieces of Work.
One Outcome.
These are not menu items to pick from. They reinforce each other — the rebuilt site gives the search work something solid to stand on, the search work feeds the AI signals, and the Google profile converts the people who never reach your website at all.
Every engagement opens the same way: your site gets rebuilt and moved onto Cloudflare hosting. Not a facelift — a rebuild. Structure, load speed and schema are exactly what search engines and AI assistants read, and a site that was never built with those in mind usually costs more to patch than to replace.
Everything downstream depends on it. Optimizing a slow, shapeless site is paying for horsepower you can't put on the road.
- Rebuilt on a foundation designed for search and AI from the start
- Cloudflare hosting — fast everywhere, stable under traffic
- Mobile first, because that is where the calls come from
- The finished site is yours, whatever happens later
The unglamorous, compounding work: making it unmistakable to a search engine what you do, where you do it and why you are a credible answer. Technical cleanup, page architecture, service coverage and content aimed squarely at searches with intent behind them — not traffic for its own sake.
Calls from people who already decided to hire someone and are picking who. The cheapest lead there is.
- Technical and on-page work across the whole site
- Coverage that scales with the area you serve
- Content built for the searches that end in a booking
- Monthly Search Console audits, with the findings actually implemented
Getting quoted in the answer panel and named by the assistants — the AEO and GEO work. That means content structured so it can be lifted cleanly, schema that states plainly what you are, and details consistent enough across the web that a model will ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI risk putting your name forward.
This is early. Most local competitors have not started. The businesses establishing these signals this year are the defaults being recommended next year.
- Answer-ready content and schema engines can quote directly
- Entity and consistency work so assistants can verify who you are
- Positioning against the questions people actually ask an AI
- Ongoing adjustment as these systems keep changing
For a lot of local searches your Google Business Profile is the website — people read it, judge it and call from it without ever visiting your domain. Set up properly and kept active, it is frequently the highest-return asset a local business owns. Left half-filled, it quietly costs you customers every week.
Map pack presence, reviews doing the persuading before you speak, and calls arriving straight from the listing.
- Categories, services, photos and descriptions set up correctly
- Weekly posts so the listing keeps signalling activity
- A repeatable approach to earning more five-star reviews
- Monitoring, so edits and issues get caught early
One Engagement.
Everything In It.
There are no tiers to compare and no line items to negotiate away. Every client gets the same work, scaled to the size of the market they are competing in.
- A complete website rebuild at the start — no exceptions, no upgrade path to buy later
- Cloudflare hosting built for speed and stability under real traffic
- Service pages for each thing you actually sell, written to rank on their own
- Coverage for every area you serve, expanding as the business grows
- Schema markup and technical SEO across every page
- Answer-panel and AI Overview strategy so your content is quotable
- AI assistant optimization so ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini can name you
- Google Business Profile audit and full setup, then weekly posts
- Monthly Search Console audits — impressions, position, clicks, queries
- Weekly implementation of whatever the data says to change
- Site maintenance so nothing breaks, expires or goes stale
- Priority response when you need something changed
How We Work
The First 90 Days,
Without the Mystery.
Search work has a reputation for being invisible until an invoice arrives. Here is the honest shape of it — what gets built, when, and what you should reasonably expect to see by each point.
Foundation
The audit turns into a plan, then the rebuild happens. This is the heaviest stretch of work and the least visible from outside — most of it is structural.
- Site rebuilt and moved to Cloudflare
- Technical cleanup and schema laid in
- Keyword and competitor research
- Google Business Profile fully rebuilt
Coverage
With the foundation solid, the work turns to reach — every service you offer and every place you serve gets a page that can rank in its own right.
- Service and area coverage built out
- Answer-ready content structured for AI Overviews
- Weekly Google profile posts begin
- First Search Console patterns emerge
Traction
Movement becomes measurable. Map pack results usually arrive first; organic positions follow. From here the work is iterative and driven by what the data shows.
- Local and map pack visibility improving
- Monthly audits driving weekly changes
- Assistant and answer-panel citations tracked
- Call and form volume trending up
Weidman Marketing
Small on Purpose.
Weidman Marketing is a Hickory, North Carolina shop that has been independent since 2016. Before that came years inside digital marketing watching how agencies actually operate — which is a large part of why this one is built the way it is.
Most of the last decade went into coaching and training other agency owners, better than two thousand of them across the US, UK, South Africa, Germany, Australia and Costa Rica. Teaching a skill to people who will go out and charge for it is a demanding way to learn what genuinely works. The tactics that only sound good tend not to survive the first person who tries them on a real client.
Outside the work: a Christian, a husband and a father. My wife Sarah and I founded Highland Academy, a hybrid homeschool here in Hickory now serving 120+ students, where I teach Intro to Entrepreneurship and Intro to AI to the high schoolers. Staying small is deliberate. It is the only way the person you hire stays the person doing your work.
- Independent agency owner since 2016, with 16+ years in digital marketing
- Coached and trained 2,000+ agency owners across six countries
- Hundreds of clients served across the United States
- Co-founder, Highland Academy — Hickory, NC, 120+ students
- Teaching Intro to Entrepreneurship and Intro to AI, Fall 2026
Forty-Plus Reviews.
Not One Below Five Stars.
Left by agency owners, local business owners and long-term clients. Every one verifiable on the Google Business Profile — go read them there rather than taking our word for it.
Ed is a breath of fresh air in the world of online business coaching. His no-nonsense minimalist approach to simplifying what matters to achieve results is invaluable... He is a responsive motivator who genuinely cares about the success of his clients.
I have used and recommend Ed Weidman's services. It can be hard to find digital marketers that are either competent or honest but Ed is both, he gets good results for his clients. Highly recommended.
Ed Weidman is a man of integrity, honesty, and always goes above and beyond... I have worked with many agencies and 'gurus' over the years, and Ed is by far one of the VERY BEST! He makes himself available for his clients and students.
He actually did my website and he obviously set up the right keywords and got me in the right places because I get a lot of calls and emails... My company is now top of Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor and Facebook in my field. I credit Ed for making this happen.
Ed is one of the most genuine people I know, the man is also a master at his craft, with SEO and business sales coaching. His knowledge and guidance is one of the main reasons my agency is alive and growing everyday!!
This has totally changed the direction I was heading in business... The ability to simplify what was a complicated industry for me in the online marketing space is unlike any other business mentor I have ever encountered. Just do it.
Asked and Answered.
No Runaround.
The questions that come up on nearly every first call, answered the way they get answered on the phone.
Four things that work as one system: a rebuilt website, local search optimization, AI visibility work, and Google Business Profile management. The aim behind all four is identical — when somebody nearby needs what you do, you are the business they find and the business they get told about.
SEO puts you in the list of blue links. AEO puts you in the answer printed above that list — AI Overviews, featured snippets, voice results. GEO gets you named when someone asks an assistant who to hire. They share some underlying signals, but they are not one job, and a site optimized only for the first is getting steadily less visible on the other two.
Yes, and it isn't optional. Every engagement opens with a full rebuild on Cloudflare hosting. Page structure, load speed and schema are precisely what search engines and AI assistants read, and most existing sites take more effort to retrofit than to rebuild properly.
You do. If we part ways, give 30 days' notice and the site moves into your full ownership and control. You are never left starting over from a blank page as the price of leaving.
No. The work runs month to month. Staying should be a decision you make because the phone is ringing — not because an agreement says you still owe eight months.
Google Business Profile improvements often show inside the first 30 to 60 days. Organic rankings and lead volume usually take 3 to 6 months to move in a way you can feel. Anyone quoting faster than that on organic search is selling you something.
Usually inside a week of getting what we need — logins, photos, brand assets and a clear picture of your services. The hold-up is almost never on our end.
Local businesses that run on booked work from nearby customers — where a phone call or an appointment is the thing being competed for. If your customer searches, compares two or three options and then calls someone, the approach fits.
No. The person you talk to is the person doing the work. There's no call center, no junior account manager and no offshore team you never meet. That is the main reason this stays a small shop.
Google Search Console gets audited every month — impressions, average position, clicks, and which queries are genuinely earning them — and those findings turn into changes implemented the same month. Alongside that sits the measure that really settles it: how many people called you.
Yes, and it's often the fastest way to start. Use the call button at the bottom of the screen — texts and calls come straight through, no gatekeeper in between.
